Mini Holiday Gnome Workshop - December 6th
Knit an adorable mini gnome, perfect for holiday decor or gifting while mastering fun knitting techniques. Together with Aleks Byrd, you’ll learn all the techniques used commonly across her family of festive knitted gnome patterns.
We will cover everything from a crochet provisional cast-on, bobble stitch nose, some beautiful Estonian knitted braid embellishement and of course a sewn fringe beard! At the end of the workshop, you’ll have a gnome ready for the festive season with no doubt the desire to knit a whole gnome family!
Saturday December 6th 11am-1pm with break 2-4pm
This 4 hour workshop is broken into 2 × 2 hour sessions with a 1 hour lunch break from 1-2pm. The hour long lunch break is a great opportunity to explore the Bath Christmas Market.

What to Expect:
Hands on instruction with Aleks Byrd
Handout to guide you through your first gnome with access to tutorial videos for techniques used further practice beyond class
Learn techniques used across Aleks’ gnome patterns and other patterns like: crochet provisional cast-on, Kihnu vits knitted braid, bobble (for nose), sewn fringe (for beard)
This workshop will be held at Hidden Store, 2 Pierrepont Place, Bath, UK, BA1 1JX

Intermediate knitter; students should be comfortable to knit and purl in the round, cast-on, bind-off.

· US 6 / 4 mm needles for knitting small circumference (Double pointed needles or circular needles for magic loop)
· Tapestry / darning needle
· Scissors
All other materials: yarn, stuffing and festive bells will be supplied
Cancellation policy: We will provide a full refund for cancellations who give at least 7 days notice. If shorter notice is given, a refund will be offered if a replacement can be found for your place. This workshop is limited to a small number of students, so we reserve the right to cancel this workshop if there are not enough attendees.

By Train: Train services to Bath Spa train station are fairly regular. It’s a short 5-8 minute walk from the train station to Hidden Store.
By Bus: The closest bus stop for all directions is the central Bath bus station which is next to the train station. It is then a 5-8 minute walk to Hidden Store.
By Car: The closest car park is Manvers Street car park.

Please note there a few steps to access the workshop space. There are 2-3 steps into Hidden Store and then another 2 steps into the workshop space at the back of the shop.
