Narbeth cowl knitting pattern (English)
The Narbeth cowl is a stylish and cozy accessory featuring bold colourwork inspired by old weaving pattern from Estonia and Wales. The name Narbeth comes from a village in Wales filled with treasured woven textiles like Welsh woven blankets that inspired the colourwork pattern. This easy to knit stranded colourwork project is an ideal layer for autumn-winter to add a touch of pattern and style to any wardrobe. It's Aleks' go to knit to wear in winter.
This all over stranded colourwork cowl is knit in the round to make a tube with the ends grafted together. The cowl can be made longer or shorter by working more number of pattern repeats to obtained desired length.
The cowl begins with a provisional crochet with waste yarn. The provisional cast-on in waste / scrap yarn is carefully undone once the cowl is knit to the desired length to place the live stitches onto a second set of needles for grafting using the Kitchener stitch method.
