Northern Lights Knitting Cruise

Experience the magical mix of colours that form in the Arctic sky, cruise among the Norwegian fjords and enjoy time ashore among the beautiful landscapes on our Northern Lights tour! There’s plenty of time for workshops with Aleks Byrd as you journey amongst the islands, islets and skerries that make up a coastline considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Though days may be short, Norway’s remarkable landscapes take on a special beauty at this time of year. Each day you can step-ashore and explore, or relax and take in the snow-cloaked scenery and wintry lifestyle of Norway’s remotest coastal communities.

Got some questions about the tour?

For specific individual travel advice - chat with Stitchtopia, the craft travel agency I’ve partnered with.

  • There are two options when it comes to the pricing of the trip depending on the travel options included:

1 – Travel from London with the group and tour manager to Bergen, Norway - the airfare from London to Bergen is included. At the end of the tour, travel back to London is also included.

2 – Travel from your home to Bergen, Norway and meet the whole group and myself there. This option does not include any of the travel costs such as flights to and from Norway or the return transfers between Bergen airport and the hotel.

  • Come join the tour from anywhere in the world. On previous Stitchtopia trip I’ve coordinated there have been knitters from the US, Canada, UK, and Australia and more.

  • Yes – the trip has a double for single/ sole occupancy rooms available. The single supplement is £575, so this amount would be added to the tour price (£2795 + £575 or £2245 + £575) depending upon which joining option you choose.

  • An intermediate knitter; someone who is comfortable knitting and purling in the round and reading from charts

  • We will be a maximum total of 18 people - 16 knitters plus me and our craft loving tour manager

  • Yes you can! Your non-knitter can join along for all the fun and opt out of the knitting workshops on board the boat. There is a discount for the non-knitters as they aren’t doing the workshop portions.
