LALLI

Vibrant colours and spirit make the Estonian island of Muhu enchanting. Named after a small village on the island, this colourful cowl brings the flora and patterns of the island to life in beautful colourwork and slip stitch patterns knit in the round.

  • Circumference approx. : 66 cm / 26”

    Width approx. : 20 cm / 8”

  • 4ply fingering weight yarn in following amounts:

    MC: 152 m / 166 yds

    CC: 164 m / 180 yds

  • This cowl is knit in the round with the ends grafted together to hide the floats and create a double thickness.

It begins with a provisional cast-on such as a crochet cast-on method with waste yarn.

When working the slip stitch pattern sections, the MC yarn is dropped and all MC stitches are slipped with CC at back of work.

The provisional cast-on in waste yarn is carefully undone to place the live stitches onto a second set of needles for grafting using the Kitchner stitch method.
